ABOUT THE CHEF
My name is DeReath Times and I am the owner and founder of DeeLee Cakes. The name DeeLee Cake is in remembrance of my Grandmother, Mary Lee Cage, who helped me not only foster my love of baking but taught me everything I know. As a young girl I remember sitting with my cousins on warm summer days and spending time with my Grandmother in her kitchen. My Grandma would always ask me and cousins “What do you want Granny to make for you today”. We would call out what we wanted cookies, cake or candy and then she would make us whatever we wanted.
As I got older my Grandma began to teach me how to bake and the rest, as they say, was history. Although my Grandmother passed sometime ago, I consider her teachings my inheritance. Those lessons are still with me today and I'm beyond excited to be able to share my love and family tradition with you and your family.
